Project E-Teach -- End of Grant Important Reminders

Please read this e-mail carefully. Many important details concerning the conclusion of Project E-Teach are included.

Project E-Teach was a 1-year grant (September 2000-September 2001) to assist educators to successfully integrate technology into their teaching and learning. The grant will officially end on September 28, 2001.

Many of you have e-mailed to ask….."What does this mean for me????????"

Stipend questions -
If you think you are missing a stipend payment, you must contact the Project E-Teach office PRIOR to September 28, 2001. No stipend questions will be answered or any payment made after September 28, 2001. There will be no project staff available to assist you. The help desk will not be operational after this date.

Help Desk -
The help desk will answer calls and e-mail until Friday September 28, 2001 @ 4:30 p.m. After this time, the help desk numbers will be disconnected.

Project Staff -
Friday September 28, 2001 will be the last working day for the Project E-Teach staff. After this date, they will not be available via phone or e-mail to answer Project E-Teach questions.

Website -
The project website http://eteach.esc13.net will stay online. The links under the teacher section are very valuable and will continue to be updated as needed. The training materials will remain online, but no additions or corrections will be made.

Connected University -
Classroom Connect has offered to extend all of your subscriptions until November 2001. At that point the subscriptions will become inactive. If you wish to continue your subscription after that date, contact Classroom Connect directly.

Quest Channel -
Classroom Connect has offered to extend the Quest Channel subscriptions though the length of the Amazon Quest. The Amazon Quest begins Monday September 24, 2001. If you would like to participate, contact the help desk PRIOR to Friday September 28, 2001.

Electronic Portfolio Kit -
Each campus received an electronic portfolio kit, which included a digital camera, scanner, and a CD burner. These kits are property of the individual campuses. Please utilize this equipment to enhance your teaching experience.

Just in Time kit -
Each campus received a box of just-in-time materials which consisted of reference books, project ideas, and teaching techniques utilizing technology. Take a look at these wonderful materials. These materials are the property of the individual campuses. Check with your campus librarian or technology contact for the location of this material.

Magazine subscriptions -
Each of you has been subscribed to two print magazines, Leading and Learning with Technology and Technology and Learning magazine. We hope you have found these magazines useful. Your subscriptions will be expiring within the next month. You were also subscribed to the electronic magazine Learner's Online. Learners online is available for download from the Project E-Teach website and will remain online indefinitely.

At-Home Internet Access -
If you have been receiving at-home Internet access, you have been contacted regarding the end of the grant. All at-home Internet access will cease on September 28, 2001. If you wish to continue with this access, you may choose to do so at your own expense. Please contact the provider directly.

Mentoring/Training -
Mentoring and training will not occur after September 28, 2001.

Getting to know all of you and working with you throughout the year has been a wonderful experience. Shaunda, Tim, Barbara and myself wish to thank you for all your hard work and dedication to improve student learning! You are so incredibly important and valuable to the students! Thank you for all that you do.
