Project E-Teach---Welcome Back
Project E-Teach---Welcome Back
Welcome back to an exciting new school year! We hope your summer was great
and your school year has gotten off to a fantastic start!
As you may well know, Project E-Teach is winding down. Our funding ends
September 28, 2001. We have had an incredible year and we sincerely hope you
have found your training and online courses valuable!
There are just a few items that we wanted to remind you about.
Help Desk
The help desk is still available. If you need help with any technology
related question let us know. Help desk hours are Monday-Friday 8:00
a.m.-5:00 p.m. The help desk may be reached via phone 512.919.5228 (or toll
free 866.438.3224) or via e-mail shaunda.guthrie@esc13.txed.net.
Post Assessment
At the beginning of Project E-Teach, you completed a pre-assessment. Since
the grant is drawing to a close, it is time to take the post assessment.
Within the next couple of days, you will be receiving e-mail with your
login, PIN number and instructions. Please use this information to complete
your online post assessment prior to Friday September 14, 2001. It is VITAL
that you complete this post assessment! This data is used to determine the
success of the program. If you have questions or need assistance please
contact the help desk.
Connected University Stipend
If you have completed your CU course and have not submitted for payment, you
need to do so immediately. Stipend requests received after September 7,
2001 may NOT be ACCEPTED. Remember, you may submit stipend requests for up
to 3 online courses (6 or 4 weeks in length) completed as an independent or
general learner. To receive a stipend, the course must have begun PRIOR to
June 30, 2001. If you have questions or need assistance downloading a
stipend form, please contact the help desk.
Quest Channel
Connected University will be launching Amazon Quest in September. Classroom
Connect is extending our subscription to include the Amazon Quest. Amazon
Quest will begin September 24, 2001 and conclude October 26, 2001. Support
materials will be available online very soon. If you would like a Quest
subscription for your classroom, please contact the Project E-Teach
helpdesk. Quests are an exciting and motivating way to involve your students
in an online interdisciplinary unit on Amazon life and culture.
Magazine Subscriptions
In November 2000 you were subscribed to three different professional
magazines. Leading and Learning with Technology and Technology and Learning
magazines are print magazines that you have been receiving since December
2000. These magazine subscriptions will expire by September 28, 2001. If you
wish to continue receiving these publications, you may subscribe
individually directly through the magazine. The third subscription has been
to an electronic magazine called Learners Online. Learners Online can be
found by logging onto the Project E-Teach website (typing in your login and
password and clicking on submit) and clicking on training files. Learners
Online has great lesson plans and TEKS correlations! If you need any
assistance accessing these resources, please call the help desk.
All participants completing the 5 days of training and one online course
will be receiving a completion certificate and special award prior to
September 28, 2001.
The project staff is here to assist you. We will all be here until September
28, 2001. If we can do anything to assist you please let us know.
Thank you for all that you do to enrich student's lives!
